The Mar Mac team includes personable and professional guides for hire. The guides are well-trained, know where the fish are and how to catch them. They will provide you with an unforgettable day on Esnagi Lake.
Your day with a guide starts on the dock after breakfast. The guide will quickly get you to the current hotspots, show you angling techniques, and ensure you catch an ample bounty so that you may proceed onto the best part of the day, your traditional Mar Mac Lodge shore lunch.
Around noon hour, the guide will navigate to one of our desginated shore lunch spots. Each spot is equipped with a fire pit and grill, and a table for processing fish. While you explore the land on foot, your guide immediately gets to work building a fire. As the fire and oil get hot enough for cooking, your fresh catch and sides will be prepped. Along with your fish you will enjoy yummy, deep fried potatoes and onions along with brown beans cooked right in their can over the fire. The finished meal is presented buffet style. Load up your provided plates, grab your favourite beverage, sit back, and enjoy your meal as you take in the sights and sounds of the lake and forest surrounding you. This is the way it’s been done for decades here in the north, and while simple, it is scrumptious!
Once your bellies are full and the lunch site has been tidied, you will once again head out on the lake for some more guided, angling fun. Your day will end around 5pm with your return to our dock. Any fish that you have caught that you plan to bring home with you will be processed and packaged by your guide.
For those who choose not to hire a guide feel free to introduce yourself to any one of our guides. They will be happy to advise you on the best types of lures and bait as well as indicating the ‘hotspots’ on our lake map.
